Hey Guys! This is the link (below) to my PSA that I have uploaded on soundcloud. The content of this PSA revolves around the Red-Cross and their relief/humanitarian efforts as a non-profit. The purpose of this PSA was to spread awareness but also connect it to my podcast and website topic. The topic that my group chose to use was photography with some tourism/travel mixed in (Ashley G’s wordpress). I was able to successfully connect the PSA to the website topic by giving a brief overview of what the Red-Cross does, and then connecting that to tourism/photography by saying, “So with photography and traveling, the red-cross provide all types of relief, to the places you love to see”. For example New Orleans is a highly photographed and traveled to place because of its interesting culture and nightlife, but with things such as Hurricane Katrina in 2006, the Red-Cross was there to help rebuild, and supply it’s residents after the natural disaster hit, hence ‘providing relief’ to ‘the places you love to see’. This would also relate to my podcast as I plan on it being focused around the volunteers/workers within the Red-Cross in which I plan on showing emotional photos of volunteers and then talking about them in terms of photography and importance.
